System Control Center
The DW6000 has an internal web server that answers to the address:
http://192.168.0.1 or to the DNS intercepted names:
http://www.direcwaysupport.com/ for DW6000
http://www.systemcontrolcenter.com/ for DW7000
or to the NAT IP Address of the DWx000:
http://69.35.225.x Find this address from the System Info globe as the
NAT IP address, or LAN1 IP address on DW7000 systems.
For static IP service offerings the static IP address of the DWx000 can also be used to
connect to the System Control Center screens.
The address 192.168.0.1 is also referred to as the gateway address for the residential
service offering. To be precise, the NAT IP address and not 192.168.0.1 should be used
as the first hop router address and the satellite router address 66.82.157.x is the next hop
router address.
Normally the subnet mask will be 255.255.255.0 except during commissioning when it
can be 255.255.255.255 or …252 so that only 1 host can connect to the non-
commissioned NTI.
Direcway’s first level help desk will always ask you to refer here for site specific
information and primary problem determination.
Bring up this web page to make sure the System Status is Green. If not then click on the
System Status indicator to determine where the failure resides. The System Status screen
will have a red flag next to the item that is causing the failure.
The System Status screen has a very misunderstood number that is simply referred to as
the Signal Strength. This number is really the Signal Quality Factor (SQF) and was
labeled Signal Strength to not confuse end users. This number is really a factor of several
items not the least of which is the satellite commissioned to, the receive transponder
frequency, isolation factor, etc. Any indication above 30 should mean that the system is
usable. But a reading at one site system of 74 does not mean that they have a better, faster
connection then another user that may be on a different satellite and commissioned to a
different receive transponder frequency with a 56 reading. Direcway technicians have
charts that translate these numbers into more meaningful information. For the normal
user they are only a guideline.
One question that arises is why is the receive frequency only listed. What about the
transmit frequency. All satellites are the same. For every Receive frequency they have a
matching transmit frequency. Remember what a satellite does. It takes everything sent to
it on its receive frequencies and retransmits them on their matching transmit frequencies.
The satellites function is rather simple.
